If mainstream radio leaves you feeling like a badger trapped in a disco, then this is your sanctuary. We're talking indie folk that's more campfire sing along than pretentious coffee shop strumming, acoustic chills that'll send shivers down your spine without resorting to elevator music, and a sprinkle of country twang to remind you there's still a little yeehaw left in the world. So, ditch the chart-topping trash and tune in to the Ripman Show – it's the antidote to the musical mayhem plaguing the airwaves. Just don't blame him if you find yourself spontaneously sprouting a beard and yearning for a simpler time.

After opening Vinyl Resting Place on the third floor of the iconic Manchester shopping emporium in 2014, Alistair has steadily built up a rapport and musical connections with many different customers and luminaries in the local music scene. As well as focusing on commercially unknown music committed to vinyl, the show will also feature guests, selected local music of the week and also feature anecdotes of weekly encounters in the shop. After assembling an enormous five-figure record collection over the past quarter of a century, Alistair wants to share his findings with those willing to open their ears to music criminally under-the-radar, and let people discover their new favourite song.

Join Rik, Mark & Brian for a random rummage through the audio bag that is Pick ‘n’ Mix. Showcasing all genres across the world. We’re concentrating on unsigned, under exposed and generally ignored gems from approximately every genre – If you’re a band that’s doing something original and feel you’re being neglected… get in touch. That being said – we’ve got mates who you’ll have heard of commercially and we’ll be dragging them onto our paradise island of memories that is ‘Desert Island Dix’, where the chosen share insights into their favourite tracks, how they got into what they love and why– whilst being hijacked and generally derailed with random questions (they’d hopefully) never have been asked or thought of in their life. We’ll be going out covering live events and hi-jacking bands to gab to us as we travel the planet on our scoots; we are ‘The Queasy Riders’, we’ll get our motor’s running and head out on the ‘A’ roads, looking for adventure, or whatever comes our way. Yeah, we’re going to make it happen; from reggae to rock, from electro to emo, who knows what’s going to pop up picked ‘n’ mixed on the show? You’ve no idea, and we’re as likely to be in the same boat too.
